Here are some of the 13 candidates who will stand in the 2017 election to North Yorkshire County Council.

 


   

Leslie Rowe is standing in North Richmondshire. He was our candidate in the Parlliamentary elections of 2005, 2010, and 2015, and has also stood in previous County and District council elections. Leslie is retired, married with three grown up sons, and lives in Brompton on Swale.

    


 

Lisle Ryder

Lisle Ryder is standing in Middle Dales. He stood in the 2015 District council election for Lower Wensleydale. Lisle is a retired clergyman and lives in Newton le Willows.

  


 

Robbie Kelly

Robbie Kelly is standing in Upper Dales. He stood there in 2013 and 2009, and for Reeth and Arkengarthdale in the 2015 District council election. Robbie is a copywriter and editor, married with a son and daughter, and lives in Arkengarthdale.

 


Margaret Lowndes

Margaret Lowndes is standing for the first time, in Northallerton. She lives in Arkengarthdale.

 


 

Dave Dalton

Dave Dalton is standing in Catterick Bridge. He has been a candidate in every District and County council election since 2009. Dave is retired, married with two grown up sons, and lives in Richmond. 

 


Jim Peters

Jim Peters is standing in Great Ayton. In 2015 he stood in Richmond East in the District council election. He is retired, and lives in Angram, near Keld in Swaledale.


 

Anna Jackson

Anna Jackson is standing in Richmond. She previously stood in a by-election for the Richmond Central district ward. She is a retired music teacher, married with grown uip children, and lives in Richmond. 


 

Michael Chaloner

Michael Chaloner is standing in Bedale. He also stood there in the 2015 District council election. He is a retired academic and lives in Aiskew.  


 

 

John Yorke

John Yorke is standing in North Hambleton. He stood for the Appleton Wiske and Smeatons seat in the 2015 District council elections. He is an NHS mental health nurse, working in Darlington, and lives in East Cowton. 


 

Patricia Tricker

Patricia Tricker is standing in Romany and Broomfield. In 2015 she stood in Hornby Castle. She is a freelance translator and lives in Bedale.


 


Fiona Yorke is standing in Swale. Fiona is also our Parliamentary candidate for the Richmond constituency. She is a management trainer, married, and lives in East Cowton.
