The plans for the Coronation Park and Shute Road area include enhanced play spaces, accessible routes to the town centre and an overhaul of footpaths and cycleways.

Artwork will be appearing on the hoardings of the new development after children and young people from around Catterick produced imaginative drawings, designs and poetry for them over the summer months.

Green Party Councillor Kevin Foster, (Hipswell and Colburn), North Yorkshire Council’s member champion for the armed forces, talked with local children about what they would like to see in the park. Kevin said, “It was really great to hear the children’s views on what they would like to see in the park and interact with them. They were excited about the development and their artwork was really thought-provoking.It is our aim to have a fantastic development that will benefit the children and indeed their children for years to come.”
